NewspaperARCHIVE.com to Add 50 millionth Newspaper Page

Content on NewspaperARCHIVE.com, the largest newspaper database available online, will reach 50 million pages this weekend.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa (PRWEB) November 4, 2006 -- NewspaperARCHIVE.com, the largest newspaper database available online, will reach a historic milestone Sunday, November 5 as the 50 millionth newspaper page will be added.

In May, NewspaperARCHIVE.com began adding one newspaper page every second – which is more than 80,000 historic newspaper pages a day. The momentous milestone comes just before the launch of NewspaperARCHIVE.com's redesign, which will contain a number of new features and is expected to be unveiled mid-November.

"We are tremendously excited to reach this mark," said Derek Fiscus, Head of Digital Production. "Yet, we expect the next 50 million pages to be added even faster, providing our customers with an even more extensive newspaper database."

NewspaperARCHIVE.com contains full-page images of historic newspapers from more than 2,500 titles throughout the US and other countries that can be searched by key word, date or location. The online archive began in 1999 and is owned by Heritage Microfilm of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
