Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 4, 2006 -- Just in time for the elections on November 7, 2006 a new open forum for ideas and opinions hits the airways as Vital Issues with Dr. Valerie Anne Kirkgaard debuts. Vital Issues investigates critical matters impacting the beauty and community of America today. With nothing held sacred, expect fully-charged discussions on those aspects of life in jeopardy; our children's future, the environment, the economy, the war and the elections with guests:
Clint Curtis, Candidate for Congress representing the 24th Florida District against Tom Feeney believes in the values of an older simpler time. "Now a Democrat, I am a former Republican who left that party after a sitting US Republican Representative, Tom Feeney, asked me to build a prototype computer program that could, without detection, flip the votes on an electronic voting machines. That experience changed not only my views, but also changed the course of my life," states Curtis.
American actor Ed Asner grew up having to defend himself both vocally and physically; he was raised in the only Jewish family in his neighborhood. Asner's performing career got its start while he was announcing for his high school radio station; moving to Chicago in the 1950s until he went to New York to try his luck on Broadway. It worked and led to his most memorable role as Lou Grant on the Mary Tyler Moore Show. He now works diligently to reclaim America's greatness.
Hadani Ditmars is an international journalist based in Canada and the author of the bestseller, Dancing in the No Fly Zone: a Woman's Journey Through Iraq, a book that provides a unique perspective on the troubled nation both before and after the US invasion. Her work has been published in the New York Times, London Independent, The Globe and Mail,. Time, Vanity Fair, Vogue and Newsweek and broadcast on the BBC and CBC radio and television.
Byron De Lear, running for a House seat in the 28th Congressional District in California, speaks in a voice that resounds with clarity and conviction as he seeks to upset incumbent Howard Berman and the George Bush agenda and become the first Green in Congress.
In 2004, De Lear the son of an opera singer father and concert pianist mother, quit his job in production for 20th Century Fox and founded Global Peace Solution, an organization committed to brokering peace resolutions throughout the Middle East. His television talk show Global Peace Network has been broadcast via satellite throughout North America, Europe and the Middle East. Now, De Lear has shifted his focus on ending the war in Iraq, invigorating the American economy, and taking a "full court press" approach to tackling the ill effects of global warming.
No stranger to electrifying, opinionated guests, Dr. Kirkgaard has been managing the emotions and comments of A list guests since 1987 when her sister show, Waking Up In America, www.wakingupinamerica.com, hit the LA airways. In the radio talk magazine format, listeners tune in each week to hear their favorite editors and guests. Vital Issues takes a break from that format and will be visited each week by 3 or more guest editors with an expertise in the subject of the day.
"On Vital Issues expect to hear the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth," states Kirkgaard. "Partial truths, partisan opinions and political placatory inaction have created a culture of numbness to the world around us. It's time to stand up, speak up and act up."
Vital Issues airs live at 11AM PDT on www.business.voiceamerica.com and rebroadcasts at 11PM PDT on Saturday, November 4, 2006. Join Dr. Kirkgaard and her guests for an authentic conversation each Saturday morning. If the issues and the other side of the story are important to you, your family and your business, you'll want to tune into Vital Issues.
