(PRWEB) November 5, 2006 -- Jazz/Pop vocalist Robert Martin comes out swingin' with his long-awaited debut album "Robert Martin Sings: Cy Coleman". Released on the Billboard® charts-topping Dauman Music label, and produced by renowned Grammy®-artist Ted Perlman, known for his work with Bacharach, Dylan and Whitney, Martin's exceptional vocal talents are showcased throughout the record, which includes eleven of Cy Coleman's greatest musical gems.

While Perlman's arrangements are hip and contemporary, Martin's premier song styling, soothing timbre, jazzy phrasing and spectacular breath-control, takes the Great American Songbook to new heights and into the 21st century. "When In Rome (I Do As The Romans Do)" is the hit single of the album. Other great tracks include "Real Live Girl," "I Love My Wife," and "Why Try To Change Me Now?" The album is now available at major retail outlets, e.g. itunes, yahoo music, msn music, emusic, and others.

About Robert Martin

Singer and recording artist Robert Martin is one of the new breed of performers who are taking the Great American Songbook into the 21st century.

Born into a family of entertainers, Robert Martin has been performing traditional pop standards, jazz and adult contemporary material from a very young age on with renowned artists such as jazz/pop pianist, composer and big band leader Horst Jankowski ("A Walk In The Black Forest") and Grammy®-artist Ted Perlman (producer of Bacharach, Whitney, and Dylan). Martin has honed his craft in venues around the U.S., Canada and Europe, and – different than most of his Generation X contemporaries - taking inspiration from some of the greatest artists of the 20th century, such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis, Jr., Matt Monro, or Barry Manilow to name but a few. However, Robert's delivery transcends very unique and different styling, as well as interpretation of song - somewhere between smooth jazz, pop and traditional pop. It's contemporary and hip, yet clearly in the craft's lineage. Hence, Robert Martin is quickly becoming one of America's premier song stylists and recording artists, by cleverly pioneering the blending of jazz, pop and dance elements in his performance.
