The winners of Pup Life's 1st Annual Halloween Dog Costume Photo Contest were officially announced. Three outstanding winners were chosen among many entries. Pup Life owners Eric Houtkooper and Leslie Hayes-Houtkooper enlisted the help of their dogs, Daisy & Scout, to help choose this year's winners. Prizes included Pup Life Gift Certificates ranging from $25.00 to $100.00 for the top three winners.

Fennville, MI (PRWEB) November 9, 2006 -- Winners of Pup Life's 1st Annual Halloween Costume Dog Photo Contest have been announced.

From furry to funny to totally creative, a list of the entries and winners along with pictures can be found online at http://www.puplife.com/photocontest/

"We love having fun with our dogs, and Halloween is the perfect time to dress-up your dog and celebrate," said Pup Life President, Eric Houtkooper. He was amazed by the overwhelming amount of entries Pup Life received. "Halloween is a fun holiday for people and pets. But we had no idea how many creative pet owners were out there." PupLife.com received close to 100 entries and many dog owners submitted multiple photos of their dogs in elaborate and often hilarious costumes.

"Pets play an increasingly important role in our daily lives and this fact is underscored by the tremendous response to our 1st Annual Halloween Costume Dog Photo Contest," remarked Leslie Hayes-Houtkooper, CEO. "We'd like to thank everyone who participated in Pup Life's 1st Annual Halloween Costume Dog Photo Contest. Everyone did such a wonderful job. Choosing this year's winners was no easy task," she continued. Pup Life plans to expand the annual event in 2007 with added features and prizes.

The winners of Pup Life's 1st Annual Halloween Costume Dog Photo Contest are:

First Place Winner - Gary the Fish. Gary's owner, Amy, says that he was originally going to be a chicken, but decided he would rather be a fish for Halloween and save the chicken for New Year's Eve. Gary is a funny, friendly and playful Shar-Pei who has been dressing up since he was a wee pup.

Second Place Winner - Ellie Mae the Lobster. Ellie Mae is a 5 month old Boston Terrier from New Jersey. Ellie Mae's owner says she makes a great lobster because she's always terrorizing her older sister!

Third Place Winner - Little Bo Peep & Sheep. Golden Retriever, Will, and his Pug friends, William, Maybe, Fantine and Arthur really outdid themselves with this great costume! Will was adopted by Debbie & Dottie from Rock Creek, Ohio.
