The Welterweight Wars in Valley Forge
A Live Professional Boxing event titled "The Welterweight Wars" featuring five welterweight bouts including a Welterweight Championship Main Event is being held by Lion Heart Boxing Productions on Thursday, November 30, 2006, at the Valley Forge Convention Center in Valley Forge, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. In the Main Event, North American Boxing Council (NABC) Welterweight Champion and Welterweight contender Antonio Mesquita (33-0, 27 knockouts) will defend his title against an opponent to be announced.
Also on the card are Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's Welterweight Contender Troy Browning (17-0) in his first comeback fight, former Welterweight champion Mamadou Thiam (42-6), Philadelphia knockout sensation up and coming megastar, Tyrone "Young Gun" Brunson (13-0, 13 knockouts) and other local fighters. "The Welterweight Wars" is the introductory and kickoff event of Valley Forge's version of the Thursday Night Fights series--Thursday Night Fights at the Valley Forge Convention Center.
(PRWEB) November 8, 2006 -- Lion Heart Boxing Productions proudly announces today that it will hold a Live Professional Boxing event at the Valley Forge Convention Center in Valley Forge, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania on Thursday, November 30, 2006. In the Main Event, North American Boxing Council (NABC) Welterweight Champion and Welterweight contender Antonio Mesquita (33-0, 27 knockouts) will defend his title against an opponent to be announced.
The event titled "The Welterweight Wars" will feature at least five welterweight bouts. In addition to the Welterweight Main Event and NABC Championship fight, The Welterweight Wars currently has four additional welterweight fights scheduled on its Undercard. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's Welterweight Contender Troy Browning (17-0) will have his first comeback fight after a long lay off. Additionally, former Welterweight champion Mamadou Thiam (42-6) of Dakar, Senegal, Lion Heart's own and Hurricane Katrina Evacuee Elliott Forman (0-1) and New Yorker Rafael Saldana (professional debut) also will be featured, all against opponents to be announced.
The Undercard will be highlighted by Philadelphia knockout sensation up and coming megastar, Tyrone "Young Gun" Brunson (13-0, 13 knockouts). Brunson has a hard to believe and an unmatched middleweight record of thirteen knockouts wins in thirteen outings, all knockouts in the first round. With his incredible thirteen first round knockouts in thirteen outings, even though he has not been tested to date, Brunson's knack for knocking out his opponents makes him the most exciting fighter since the young Mike Tyson.
Brunson hopes to help continue Philadelphia's dominance of the Middleweight ranks and is seen as a top Middleweight prospect. With his stellar amateur career, Philadelphia pedigree, unmatched speed and incredible knockout power, Brunson is widely recognized as one of the heirs-apparent to the pound-for-pound throne. Though some may think it premature, many are touting 21-year old Brunson as a possible savior of the sport.
The card will be rounded off by several additional local fighters to be determined.

Tickets are reasonable priced and will go on sale on Monday, November 13, 2006. Prices are $30.00 General Admission; $50 for Ringside seats and $100.00 for VIPs. About Antonia Mesquita
Antonia Mesquita has an impressive winning streak for a Welterweight, having won all thirty three of his professional fight, most by way of knockout, and is recognized as a top Welterweight contender.
Since turning pro in 1997, Mesquita (33-0, 27 KOs) of Guaruja, Brazil, has remained unbeaten and has knocked out more than 70 percent of his opponents (23) within five rounds. The native Brazilian Mesquita captured his first pro crown, the Brazilian State Light Welterweight championship, with a 10-round KO over Valmir Gomes on December 6, 1997, after less than one year of campaigning as a professional fighter. His second major crown was the WBO Latin America junior welterweight crown which Mesquita won in his hometown by registering a first-round KO over Juan Urzua on January 15, 2001. In his sole title defense, Mesquita earned a 12-round decision over Luiz Da Silva on June 30, 2001, in Guaruja. Mesquita stayed active until 2001, when a shortage of opponents slowed his career. In his sole 2002 appearance, Mesquita floored Rodrigo Villalba in the third round on April 20. After that Mesquita only fought four more times, racking on four more wins, before taking a leave of absence in August, 2004 due to his frustration over not being able to get any of the top guys to fight him. Desiring to finish the job he started, Mesquita is on a comeback trail and is determined to make his dream of becoming the Junior Welterweight Champion of the world a reality. Before his furlough, Mesquita was ranked by all major organizations, including a ranking of Number Two 2 by the WBC.
Mesquita has won all three of his comeback fights to date.
