MarketScout to Host eInsurance Symposium

MarketScout, the Dallas, Texas based Insurance Exchange sponsors an eInsurance Symposium on May 15 and 16, 2007 in Dallas, Texas.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) November 8, 2006 -- MarketScout, the Dallas, Texas based Insurance Exchange is sponsoring an eInsurance Symposium on May 15 and 16, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. Attendees will enjoy a better understanding of using automation and the internet to distribute and underwrite insurance. According to Richard Kerr, Founder and CEO of MarketScout, “Within the last seven years the insurance industry has undergone incredible change. eInsurance has gone from being the ultimate solution in 2000 to a losing proposition in 2004 to a leading business platform at the end of 2006. Industry leaders agree the utilization of automation and the internet as related to underwriting and distributing insurance is the way of the future. However, there are still many misconceptions on how to build a successful model. We are assembling some of the brightest minds in eInsurance, all of whom will work collaboratively with a view towards helping better educate our industry as to what actually works, what doesn’t, and why."

Attendees at the MarketScout event will benefit from presentations made by technology enabled intermediaries and insurers. Independent agents, insurers, software companies and anyone interested in improving product underwriting and distribution will benefit from this gathering. MarketScout carefully selected industry leaders who will be part of the “think tank.”

Since 1999 there has been over $300,000,000 invested in 72 companies that planned to use the internet to sell insurance. Of these companies, only nine have survived to become successful, viable business models. These firms are populated by entrepreneurial, tenacious people who understand how to use automation to produce profitable business. The nine companies selected by MarketScout receive a majority of their revenues in an online environment, utilize an entrepreneurial eInsurance business model that has been in play for at least five consecutive years, and generate a net after tax profit. MarketScout's Kerr noted, “I have tremendous respect for the leadership of these firms. Companies that have survived the last seven years in eInsurance are either really smart or really lucky. These folks are all really smart. We are delighted to share our platform with these quality firms. Our mission is to help the insurance industry identify business models that will be successful in an online environment.”
