Steiner Studios to host Opening Ceremonies for Black & Latino Film Coalition's Brooklyn Indie House Event

On November 18, 2006 Steiner Studios will graciously open its doors to the Black and Latino Filmmaker's Coalition (BLFC) and make its brand new state of the art screening facility available to showcase some of Brooklyn's underexposed independent film & literary treasures.

(PRWEB) November 11, 2006 -- On November 18, 2006 Steiner Studios will graciously open its doors to the Black and Latino Filmmaker's Coalition (BLFC) and make its brand new state of the art screening facility available to showcase some of Brooklyn's underexposed independent film & literary treasures.

The talented lineup will feature films from local High School Benjamin Banneker Academy Cinema Tek program, Michael Pickney, Spike Lee Protégé, "Miles from Home" by Ty Hodges and Meagan Good and premier the "Da Stuy", second film by independent filmmaker, writer and artist Joe Grant.

Opened in November 2004 on a 15-acre site at the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard, this 285,000 square-foot Steiner Studios provides New York City with its first Hollywood-style (and scale) production and support facility.

Designed to the specifications of producers and facility operators in Los Angeles, supported by top New York artistic talent, Steiner Studios is a full-service, state-of-the-art "production factory," equipped for start-to-finish production of ANY major motion picture, independent film, television, music video and broadcast commercials.

The Black & Latino Filmmakers Coalition was created to empower, promote, nurture and mentor Black and Latino independent directors in the growing motion picture industry. With the support of its founder & CEO, Babatunde Odesanya and Assemblyman Roger Green, the BLFC provides innovative and quality resources for ALL Black and Latino cinematographers across the world.
