Schenectady, NY (PRWEB) November 13, 2006 -- The African Well Fund is excited to announce our second annual Got Water? Virtual Auction for Africa. Beginning Nov. 13th, a variety of donated items will be available for bidding on African Well Fund's Ebay auction page. 100% of all proceeds from the auction will be used to fund water projects in Africa.

The auction begins on Nov. 13th and runs through Nov. 19th. During that time, all of the items for bid will be listed on AWF's MissionFish Ebay page which can be accessed through our website. Some of the items donated for auction are: A copy of the newly released book U2 by U2 that has been autographed by all four members of the band, a variety of hand-made African crafts, a treasure trove of Cartoon Network collectible items, and concert photos of Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen and Melissa Etheridge. Along with these exciting items we will also be offering autographed water bottles signed by Sarah McLachlan, Casey Spooner, Kristi Kates and by all 3 members of the band Muse. We encourage bidders to bid frequently and generously!

In the coming months, AWF will be implementing new projects in Sierra Leone, Rwanda and Uganda. These projects will bring access to clean water and improved sanitation to thousands of people. Access to clean water saves lives; over 80% of disease in the developing world is related to poor drinking water and sanitation. A successful auction will not only help fund the projects listed above, but will allow us to implement new projects to reach even more people.

The African Well Fund is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 2002 by a group of U2 fans. Since that time, AWF has raised more than $215,000, which has been used to fund more than 40 clean water projects in sub-Saharan Africa. All donations to the African Well Fund go directly to Africare, one of the leading private, non-profit, charitable organizations assisting Africa. The African Well Fund was founded to focus on one achievable goal: providing access to clean water to everyone in Africa. The African Well Fund believes that access to water is not merely a basic human need but a basic human right.
