InfoSource Releases Enhanced Online Content Authoring Tool

CAT and CATpro authoring tools create engaging, interactive online training with unparalleled ease of use.

WINTER PARK, Florida (PRWEB) November 15, 2006 -- InfoSource Learning, a leading provider of e-learning management and authoring solutions, today announced a release of updates and enhancements to its How To Master Content Authoring Tool (CAT). CAT is a complete online authoring system that allows subject-matter experts to independently create custom Web-based training and testing from their proprietary content, in a user-friendly environment requiring no programming knowledge. In response to customer requests for more product flexibility, CAT has been updated with improvements to its interface and functionality, and a new, even more powerful version of the tool, CATpro, has been introduced.

The new CAT authoring tool will shorten development time and provide more engaging learning experiences than ever before. New capabilities added to CAT include a preview feature offering one-click access to viewing a lesson as it will appear to learners, the ability to insert an object and resize it within a lesson, flexibility in repositioning lesson navigation controls, the option to print lesson pages and support for copying content from previously published CAT lessons or other sources. CATpro gives content authors even more flexibility in lesson creation, producing engaging training with the integration of movies, Flash presentations, text, graphics, audio, hotspots, and object behaviors which increase student interaction. Up to 40 objects per lesson page can be employed, with the ability to layer, copy, lock, stretch and shrink objects within a lesson. Multiple learning templates are available for those who need rapid deployment of training with the least amount of design work.

"CAT has always been a powerful but easy-to-use training development tool, and these enhancements
give trainers even greater ease and versatility in accomplishing their training goals," said Tom Warrner, President at InfoSource. "Additionally, the introduction of CATpro offers trainers nearly unlimited options for creating engaging, interactive lessons."

Henderson State University used CAT to revolutionize their training program. "The CAT tool has given us a way to provide easy to create, high quality, customized training solutions to our faculty and staff that we never could before," said HSU's online learning services coordinator Kris Duncan. "When you're working with faculty, scheduling training can be really tough. How To Master allowed us to put some crucial training online so our faculty has access on demand."

CAT and CATpro are options that enhance the functionality of the How To Master Learning Management System, creating a complete online learning package. To learn more about training solutions at InfoSource Learning, please call 800-393-4636, or visit www.InfoSourceLearning.com.
