Costa Mesa, CA (PRWEB) November 14, 2006
Angels Charity, an organization created in 2003 to improve the lives of children with special needs announced it will team up with EZ Lube for a 2006 Holiday Toy Drive.
EZ Lube, the nation's fastest growing quick lube corporation, will make all 78 EZ Lube locations available as collection sites. In San Diego and Bakersfield, the toys will be donated to several local charities. In Los Angeles and Orange Counties, the Neuroscience Institute at Children's Hospital of Orange County will receive toys for their annual Christmas celebration.
All of the children who last year received neurosurgical intervention for disorders such as brain tumors, brain injuries, cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, epilepsy and spinal cord tumors and their immediate families will be invited to the Neuroscience Institute's celebration. The event includes food, games for the kids, and Santa will be giving out all the toys.
Manish Patel, Vice President of Marketing at EZ Lube, said, "We are honored to help with Angels Charity's very worthy cause. And we're thrilled to make our locations available to help with this year's Holiday Toy Drive."
Doug and Jennifer Hansen founded Angels Charity and named it after their daughter Angel who was born with challenging birth defects. Through fundraisers and special events, Angels Charity, which is located in Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, California helps to raise money and awareness for children with special needs. It focuses on three main purposes:
To assist/aid children in acquiring physical therapy equipment to improve their own lives.
Work with the City of Costa Mesa to build a "barrier free" or "accessible" playground-a playground that assures access for all children regardless of ability and encouraging peer- to- peer play between disabled and non-disabled children.
Develop & create several Children's Books dealing with the subject of children with disabilities. The profits of the books would help fund Angels Charity.
