JWT Specialized Communications, one of the world’s largest marketing communications companies, has appointed Mary Olson as Executive Creative Director for North America, responsible for all creative services for the agency’s JWT Employment Communications, JWT Mature Market Group and JWT Education groups.
Ms. Olson steps into this role with many years of experience. A graduate of California State University, she worked as a designer and illustrator in Pasadena, California in the mid 1980s. She moved into the role of Art Director and then Creative Director in the 15 years she worked in the Southern California area and has worked throughout the years on major accounts such as Disney, Bank of America, and Sony. In 1999 she moved to Seattle to join JWT Employment Communications on the Microsoft account, where the work Ms. Olson and her team developed was featured on ABC News. She also won the Employment Management Association’s Dansker Award in 2001 for work done for the Seattle Police Department.
Prior to assuming this role, Ms. Olson was the JWT Employment Communications Regional Creative Director for the West Coast, working with clients such as Starbucks, Nordstrom, Expedia, Washington Mutual and Boeing.
She resides in Seattle, loves to hike in the Cascades, enjoys gourmet cooking and plays guitar in a local band. She also works with Habitat for Humanity and is a supporter of World Vision.
