Education Module Brings Added Value to Hospitals that Use RES-Q® Labor Resource Management for Staffing and Scheduling
Optional Module Offers Comprehensive Features and Functions for Managing Continuing Medical Education Class Scheduling, Registration and Attendance
Calabasas, CA (PRWEB) November 16, 2006 -- Hospitals rely on RES-Q® Labor Resource Management to automate enterprise-wide staffing and scheduling and formulate schedules with clinically sound, skill-matched, financially optimized and productive staffing. The RES-Q Education Module now supplements and complements the core features and functions of the system with specialized tools to administer continuing medical education (CME) class scheduling, registration and attendance tracking. It thereby helps hospitals ensure that they are meeting Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards.
"The Education Module is designed to help hospitals that use our software to more efficiently and effectively manage class scheduling and registration and thereby ensure that employees take the appropriate classes they need to improve their knowledge and skills and meet continuing medical education requirements," said Michael Meisel, president and chief executive officer, RES-Q Healthcare Systems.
The RES-Q Education Module enables users to schedule any user-defined class and to search for available rooms across any specified date range. Instructors and equipment can also be scheduled. The software checks room, instructor and equipment availability and produces warning messages for any resource scheduling conflicts. Users can quickly define and build employee lists for specific classes or class types and multi-select employees to register. RES-Q performs several checks during the registration process. For example, if a class has required prerequisites, employees are flagged if they do not meet the prerequisite requirements.
Once registration is complete, e-mail notification messages can be sent with the click of one button. The module produces class registration lists for instructors to check which employees took the class. Grades and comments are optional fields. The CME credits are filled in with default values based on class length but can be changed if necessary. After class attendance is recorded, RES-Q automatically updates each employee's individual personnel record. The Education Module also includes a variety of standard reports.
