Treetop Tech to Enter IT Security Consulting Market with Integration Strategy

Leading IT consulting firm to offer integrated end-to-end enterprise wide strategy to enable corporations to realize a higher ROI on their IT security technology investments.

Boise, ID (PRWEB) November 17, 2006 -- Treetop Tech, in response to a recent Gartner report that indicated spending on IT security services will reach $24.6 billion by 2009, today announced that is it officially entering the computer security consulting market with an integrated end-to-end enterprise wide strategy to enable corporations to realize a higher ROI on their IT security technology investments.

"With few exceptions, most of the organizations within our Fortune 1000 target market have diligently spent an appropriate share of their IT budgets on IT security technology over the past several years," stated Charles Skamser, president and CEO for Treetop Tech. "However, the number of independent security technology solutions required to respond to the ever changing threat environment has led many of these organizations to create complex and largely disassociated security infrastructures. Unfortunately, we have seen that rather than solving problems, the disconnected nature of this heterogeneous approach has actually added a whole new layer of complexity resulting in reduced corporate wide security management effectiveness. We believe that a comprehensive corporate wide strategy based upon an integrated security management solution is the only effective way to meet the business needs of reducing risk, reducing costs and meeting compliance objectives," added Mr. Skamser.

As independent confirmation of Treetop Tech's strategy, the company points to a 2006 research report by The Butler Group, a Datamonitor Plc group and a leading provider of Information Technology research, analysis, and advice that concludes "organizations continue to spend their security budgets on individual products rather than on integrated systems." Further, The Butler Group report goes on to state that, "such an uncoordinated approach to the delivery of IT services from almost any other area of the technology marketplace would be seen as unacceptable."

Treetop Tech has identified five key practice areas within the IT security consulting market that will be the foundation of their integrated service offering. These areas include risk assessment, vulnerability management, intrusion protection, network access control, and identity and access management. The company states that it will offer these services at the departmental, divisional and enterprise wide organizational levels with the ultimate goal of enabling an integrated end-to-end enterprise wide IT security solution.

Integrating the best practices from risk assessment methodologies such as OCTAVE, Microsoft's Security Risk Management Guide and NIST Special Publication 800-30, Treetop Tech has developed a simpler, more scalable and effective but less expensive hybrid Agile Risk Assessment Methodology (ARAM) that relies heavily on participation from information owners in what amounts to an agile sprint.

Lead by a team of CISSP, CISM, PMP certified IT security experts, Treetop Tech can engage an organization at a variety of entry points and offer a comprehensive end-to-end enterprise wide IT security solution or integrate and extend the reach of existing solutions.

"Our IT security team will normally want to start with a risk assessment to determine the current state of an organization's ability to comply with its corporate and mandated regulatory IT security goals," explains Mr. Skamser. "Once the risk assessment is completed, we can then recommend a solution and project plan to address the requirements found in the assessment," continues Mr. Skamser.
