2007 Motorcops.com Police Calendar to Benefit Families of Fallen Officers

The 2007 Motorcops.com Police Calendar is now on-sale. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to police survivor charities. Also, affilates can earn $5 for each calendar sold through our affiliate program.

Dallas, TX, (PRWEB) November 17, 2006 - The 2007 Motorcops.com Police Calendar went on sale this past weekend, according to Mark Kopang, owner of the Motorcops.com web site and photographer for the Calendar. "It is always exciting to see the final product after working on it for nearly a year," Kopang said. "Besides group and individual photos of the motorcycle officers, there is a special tribute section for two officers appearing in the Calendar who were sadly killed in the line of duty."

Included in the Calendar this year are the motorcycle squads from the Alexandria Police Department, VA, Baton Rouge Police Department, LA, Carson City Sheriff's Office, NV Dallas Police Department, TX, Denver Police Department, CO Fresno Police Department, CA, Glendale Police Department, CA, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, FL, Maryland Transportation Authority, MD, Seattle Police Department, WA, Tallahassee Police Department, FL and the Virginia State Police, VA. The demand was high once again to be included, with nearly 60 units submitting requests to be involved. Units were selected based on their location, motorcycle equipment, uniform and size of unit.

There are over 110 photographs of officers throughout the Calendar. "I was excited when I saw my picture on the Calendar cover," said Corporal David Wallace with the Baton Rouge Police Department. "Having been selected back in March to be in the Calendar was great, but it has an extra honor now since one of our motor officers - Corporal Chris Metternich - was killed on-duty back in August. The tribute section to him and the other officer who passed away from the MdTA means a lot to all of us," Wallace stated.

The Calendar is partially supported through advertisers, which include Harley-Davidson, Motolight, PVP Communications, Fresno BMW, Tallahassee Police Department, SuperSeer and Laser Technologies. "We are happy to participate in the Motorcops.com Calendar for the second year," said Michael Dieringer owner of PVP Communications out of Torrance, California. "It is a terrific project that helps to raise money for the families of fallen officers."

One of the main goals behind the production of the annual police calendar, now in the third edition is to raise money for police memorial funds that support the families of fallen officers. "If you operate a related web site, you're encouraged to sign-up for our program to earn $5 for each Calendar sold," Kopang said. "From the beginning, I have wanted to make it easy for a FOP, PAL or memorial fund to raise money which would support their help and assistance to their members."
