TrialStat, NewLab Clinical Research and BioTheraGene Form Newfoundland Labrador-Based Drug Discovery and Development Consortium
Consortium extends TrialStat's clinical data management (CDM) partner program.
St. John's, Newfoundland (PRWEB) November 16, 2006 -- TrialStat Corporation, a clinical data management on demand company, today created with NewLab Clinical Research Inc. and BioTheraGene Inc. the Newfoundland and Labrador Research Consortium (NLRC). The consortium's three founding companies will jointly offer comprehensive clinical trial consulting, operations and management services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies conducting trials in Newfoundland Labrador. Like Iceland and areas in Northern Quebec, Newfoundland Labrador offers biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms one of the world's most unique founder patient populations for recruitment and research.
NewLab Clinical Research, one of Newfoundland Labrador's foremost clinical research organizations, and BioTheraGene, which has expertise in pre-clinical and clinical development of biologics, post-market safety assessment and risk management, will lead the delivery of NLRC's professional services and consulting while ClinicalAnalytics (CA) 4.0™, TrialStat's on demand EDC (electronic data capture) software, will form the backbone of the consortium's advanced data capture and trial management capabilities.
"Our customers are asking for an integrated approach to clinical research that combines professional service excellence and subject matter expertise with secure and scaleable on demand EDC," said Jonathan Barker, President and CEO, TrialStat. "NLRC delivers a compelling package of local genetics expertise and a full suite of trial management services that will allow biotechnology companies to efficiently conduct research that leverages the Newfoundland Labrador founder population."
"NLRC enhances the capacity of Newfoundland Labrador to attract clinical research projects from large global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies," said Dr. Wayne Gulliver, Chairman and Medical Director, NewLab Clinical Research. "This puts our local industry in a much stronger position to contribute to the overall growth and eventual expansion of clinical research in our province."
"In partnership with NewLab and TrialStat, we can provide NLRC customers with a deeper level of systematic rigor and analysis of their clinical research to ensure its alignment with the requirements of regulating bodies," said Dr. David Barnes, CEO, BioThereaGene and a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of Memorial University. "The combined value of NLRC ensures a consistency of clinical research delivery and results, which are systematic, regimented and reproducible."
NLRC members will also work together to encourage the growth of clinical research throughout Newfoundland Labrador and jointly market each other's products and services internationally.
TrialStat's Clinical Data Management (CDM) Partner Program builds strategic alliances with third-party organizations that can help customers better achieve their clinical research goals. TrialStat partners range from software solution vendors to highly specified clinical experts and data management organizations.
