Video Game Console Sony PlayStation 3 Hotter Than Nintendo Wii

A Chatterbean.com survey predicts that the Sony PlayStation 3 will be more popular than the Nintendo Wii. The lifestyle and entertainment Web site Chatterbean.com found that 76 percent of respondents to an "Are You Hot?" quiz question thought that the PlayStation 3 would be the hotter new video game console (http://www.ruhotquiz.net).

(PRWEB) November 17, 2006 --A question from the "Are You Hot?" Chatterbean.com fun personality quiz asked, "Which new console is going to be hotter?" The question pitted the Nintendo's Wii against the Sony's PlayStation 3, and the Sony video game console won with over three times more responses. Of the nearly 1,300 visitors who took the fun personality quiz (http://www.ruhotquiz.net), 60 percent of respondents to the quiz were between the ages of 18 and 24, and of that age group, the majority choose the PS3 as the hottest system coming to market. This certainly bodes well for Sony as the holiday season quickly approaches.

Nintendo aims to sell 4 million Wii video game consoles starting this November. Possibly due to production issues, Sony has only projected the sale of 2 million PS3s. Wired magazine named the Wii an editors' pick in their annual "Test" issue, but reviewers of tradeshows have called the PS3 "the best in gaming."

Nintendo's Wii features a wireless, motion-sensing controller used to simulate everything from a driving wheel to a tennis racket. The video game console is priced at $249.99. Sony's PS3 may come at twice the cost ($499.99 - $599.99), but its advanced computer technology features a cell processor. Plus, the PS3 can play content from Blu-ray discs.

Gaming fans will remember four years ago when the PS2 held first place, and the Gamecube and Microsoft's Xbox battled for second. It was a profitable war, too, with nearly 32 million game consoles sold in 2001 that generated over $7 billion in profits.

Chatterbean.com (http://www.Chatterbean.com) lets users share their responses to issues ranging from food and fashion to education and personal growth. Its variety of engaging quizzes makes for fun explorations of popular topics and contemporary questions.
