GreatBigStuff.com Expands Line of Unique Furniture
Sitting on a hamburger, stepping on a loaf of bread, or propping your feet up on a big corn cob are now possible.
(PRWEB) November 16, 2006 -- GreatBigStuff.com has just announced the release of its brand new line of decorative footstools. These trendy new furnishings are designed as oversized versions of everyday objects, just as are all the items at GreatBigStuff.com. Included in the new offering are big apples (www.greatbigstuff.com/apple.html), deluxe-sized sushi, big double cheeseburgers (www.greatbigstuff.com/hamburger.html), jumbo corn cobs, super-sized loaves of raisin bread (www.greatbigstuff.com/bread.html), oversized nuts and bolts and gigantic paint cans. All styles can be seen on their website at www.GreatBigStuff.com
Jeff Bruette, founder of GreatBigStuff.com, said "Following the success of our earlier specialty seats, the giant computer keyboard keys (www.greatbigstuff.com/keystool.html) and huge baseball gloves (www.greatbigstuff.com/baseballchair.html), we believed that offering a wider range of similarly functional products would be welcomed in the marketplace." This expanded offering was based on specific requests from their customers.
While all of these unique pieces were designed to be functional as furnishings, there is nothing in their design that precludes them for use as non-functional décor. In fact, GreatBigStuff.com anticipates that many customers will use them as pop-art decorations in their homes, restaurants, offices, and retail displays.
GreatBigStuff.com commissioned Japanese artist and designer, Hero Sugimoto, to create these latest works of art. Sugimoto's many years of experience as a designer in the toy industry came into play in developing artistically attractive and structurally functional products. "I am so pleased to be able to share these funny seats with everyone." said Sugimoto. He added "I think that fate brought GreatBigStuff.com and I together. We share many of the same thoughts about what makes people happy."
Each piece is constructed of study resin and then meticulously hand painted with careful attention to every detail. Some of these details include individually painted sesame seeds on the giant burger bun to traces of corn silk on the giant corn cob to a slight bug nibble of the apple leaf.
Initial sales shows that the giant hamburger and big apple are slightly more popular than the other designs. However, since each design has its own niche demand, all of the designs are expected to be well received in the marketplace.
As these have been produced for exclusive sale in the United States, Canada, and Mexico by GreatBigStuff.com, they are not available for sale in retail stores. While the retail prices range from $73.68 to $87.00 depending on style, the introductory price for any of these new styles is $64.00. This introductory price will be offered until Christmas.
