Reminder System Leads the Way for VoiceXML Personal Assistant

Ifbyphone, llc. releases Remind Me, an entirely voice based reminder call system, available from any telephone or by computer via your browser or a Yahoo widget. Users enjoy the portability and accessibility of Remind Me without needing to purchase another pocket sized device.

Skokie, Il. (PRWEB) November 16, 2006 -- Ifbyphone, llc. today announced an enhanced release of Remind Me, designed with the latest VoiceXML and text to speech technologies to schedule reminder calls by telephone or computer in less than a minute. Remind Me enables users to dictate the time and reminder message all by voice from any telephone, or by using ifbyphone.com. The latest release also combines the hottest trend of Yahoo's widget engine technology with ifbyphone's family of out dial agents to create an ifbyphone reminder widget. (Yahoo is a registered trademark of Yahoo, Inc.).

Scheduling calls with Remind Me's increased accessibility, via phone or widget, lies at the users' fingertips. Unlike pressing letter by letter on a cell phone alarm, ifbyphone's Remind Me allows users to quickly record notepad messages by voice or type them into a reminder widget.

In order to arrange a reminder call by phone, a user calls ifbyphone's local or toll free phone number from anywhere in the U.S. Ifbyphone then prompts the user to speak the date, time, and message, or enter the information using the telephone keypad. At the appointed time, ifbyphone calls the user up to three times to deliver the message on a wireless, cellular or landline telephone.

For users at a computer, the ifbyphone reminder widget stirred a new craze, with over 1,350 downloads since last week's beta release. The widget pictures a rotary telephone on a red notepad, with fields to type a date, time and message. Clicking the "schedule" button activates the reminder call, which will later read the message using text to speech. Ifbyphone invites non-subscribers to schedule up to thirty reminders. Ifbyphone's business service also develops custom yahoo widgets that integrate phone services with businesses.

Remind Me now joins ifbyphone's Vome, a family of out dial agents that also performs email scanning alerts and wake up calls. Receiving phone calls throughout the day from ifbyphone's out dial agents sparks the concept of an invisible, personal secretary. "At ifbyphone we are excited about the power of voice. The ability to schedule reminder calls to your telephone for business or fun could potentially create a new social phenomena," said Irv Shapiro, President of ifbyphone. Popular topics for reminders include birthdays, appointments, reminding parents about medication times, and even excusing oneself from a bad date.

Vome's accessibility from any computer or telephone enables users to avoid lugging around another gadget in their already overloaded pockets. "I was looking for a new reminder system device, but I don't have space in my fanny pack, since it already contains my cell phone, MP3 player, and ipod," stated Robert Biggs, an ifbyphone customer.

Always available in the database from ifbyphone.com or any telephone, users can check their reminders and associated notes anytime, and never have to worry about losing them. Biggs continued, "The whole point of a reminder system is to have a practical way of keeping yourself organized and prompt. So why buy a reminder system that I could forget in the car?"

The subscription packages start at $6.95 a month and include all features, such as email, news, weather, blogs, rss feeds, stocks, games and voice chat rooms all by voice from any telephone.
