Batata Café in Northport Long Island is Hosting an Open Mic Night on December 7th

The Batata Cafe located in Northport, Long Island is hosting an open mic night on Thursday November 7th. The Batata Cafe is known for breakfast, lunch, gourmet coffee, and catering and is now planning to run frequent open microphone events.

The Batata Café located at 847 Ft. Salonga Rd, in Northport Long Island will be hosting an open mic night on Thursday December 7th 2006. Since its grand opening in August of 2005, the Batata Café has supported local artists and musicians. "It is really fun to help people gain exposure and share their talents" says Nicole Nappy, owner of Batata. Nicole plans to run open mic nights regularly on Thursday nights in the coming year. "We have been pleasantly surprised and entertained by the turn out of talented individuals and want to keep it growing".

Reviews
The Long Island edition of Newsday has twice reviewed the Batata Café and recently listed it under "Best Breakfast" places in Suffolk County Long Island. The "signature sweet potato pancakes and well-filled burritos are the attractions" of the breakfast menu and a bargain at just under six dollars. Sharon Nash from Northport's Observer reviewed the lunch menu back in the early part of 2006 calling Batata "a jewel of a restaurant".

The Menu
Batata Café serves breakfast, gourmet coffee, and lunch from 8am to 7pm Monday through Friday and Saturday's from 9am to 5pm. Featuring delicious daily specials ranging from Roasted Red Pepper and Gouda soup to its popular Italiano Panini with grilled chicken breast smothered in sun dried tomatoes and marinated artichokes with mozzarella and pesto mayonnaise.
