The site (http://www.programming.net), which launched in October, was designed to offer software entrepreneurs and programmers a chance to develop their skills and ask questions in a controlled, friendly environment, according to the site owner and founder Renad Cader.

This week the site has started first of series of contests offering over $10,000 grand total in prizes.

The current contest, starting 19th Nov, will reward active members of the community with free hosting, free web design, t-shirts and other prizes in addition to monetary prizes.

"This is just a way to reward the members that help us grow," said Cader.

The forum offers a safe and friendly environment to discuss topics related to software industry. Current topics include server-side and client-side software development, software programming, software related business topics, software career topics, discussions about the state of the industry and latest news and many more.

Over 20,000 visitors have already visited the site.
