Asterisk Creative Launches Redesigned Web Site for Charlotte's Discovery Place

Asterisk Creative and the Discovery Place Development team partnered in working on the new site with several goals in mind. At the forefront of those goals was creating the sense of fun while maximizing the sites functionality and search engine strategy to make the most of the internal marketing efforts of Discovery Place.

Currently celebrating 25 years as one of the Queen City's premier destinations, Discovery Place features a state of the art IMAX theater, over 20 permanent exhibits, and has 2 satellite locations: the Charlotte Nature Museum and Discovery Place Kids.

Asterisk Creative and the Discovery Place development team had several goals in working on the new site. Most importantly, a sense of fun is created by the addition of a large animated area to house featured exhibits such as Action! and upcoming IMAX features such as the recently released Happy Feet. Persistent marketing messages and other relevant content are contained in additional graphic boxes on the homepage and throughout the site. These boxes are specifically designed to be flexible enough to allow for easy updating of future promotions and new exhibits. Additionally, the site's functionality and search engine strategy was revised to maximize the internal marketing efforts of Discovery Place.

Discovery Place with the Charlotte Observer IMAX Dome Theater and the Charlotte Nature Museum are the things to do in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. By creating a scalable site that will remain fresh for years to come, Discovery Place is on course to celebrate another 25 years as one the Charlotte's most exciting destinations.
