Canadian Prescription Drugs on Democratic Agenda

The suddenly powerful Democrats are expected to use their congressional majority to push legislation legalizing the importation of Canadian prescription drugs. But observers on both sides of the border question whether the issue has the urgency it once had.

Edmonton, Alberta (PRWEB) November 20, 2006 -- The suddenly powerful Democrats are expected to use their congressional majority to push legislation legalizing the importation of Canadian prescription drugs. But observers on both sides of the border question whether the issue has the urgency it once had.

Making prescription drugs cheaper for American consumers is on the party's 100-hour to-do list when they take power in January. Senator Byron Dorgan of North Dakota, the chairman of the Democratic Senate policy committee, told PBS television that they would deal with the re-importation of prescription drugs and a wide range of issues affecting health care.

This loosening of an anti import policy under the Republicans, that existed over the last 2 years, has created a free trade approach for the poor and senior population that depend on the savings through imported prescription drugs. Even the FDA and US Customs have been reigned in and are not holding back imports of shipments of original manufactured branded prescription drugs.

Florida voted 61% in favor of the Democratic Party for the Senate and 51% for the House. This confidence in a pro-liberalized prescription drug policy and at least two years of Democratic control has exhibited itself through increased purchases by Floridians through Internet Pharmaceutical Intermediaries such as LePharmacy.com. Many have seen a steady growth of newly registered customers from Florida.

"It's nice to see how active a State becomes after a political decision is made" commented Jason Nishmas, Marketing Director for Le Pharmacy.com. "The residents of Florida realize the benefit of purchasing their prescription medicines from us. I am surprised at how many have stated, finally we can buy without fear of seizure and border holdback. We now have politicians who will protect our welfare".

LePharmacy.com is a premier mail order intermediary for brand name, highest quality health products, at great savings from typical U.S. prices. Prescriptions are required from a doctor's visit. All prescriptions are individually reviewed and approved by licensed doctors and pharmacists and the drugs are all approved through the standards applied by the governments of Canada and the European Union.
