New York (PRWEB) November 20, 2006 -- In celebration of their freshly launched community website, not-for-profit arts organization, Art For Progress, is proud to mark a year of spectacular events by hosting their first annual multi-disciplinary open arts competition. Artists will enter submissions in the categories of visual arts, live music, fashion design, DJ work, and short film. People visiting the Art For Progress website, will be able to vote for finalists in all categories, with the competition culminating in a multi-day showcase featuring the works of all finalists as chosen by the public- truly a “Clash of the Artists!”
The series of “Clash of the Artists!” events, which will take place late February, appeal to artists and arts lovers alike. In addition to giving emerging talent a forum to shine, the events promote the spirit of inclusion by allowing event attendees and Art For Progress’ international online community to decide the overall winners of the competition.
Interested artists should note that online submissions in the categories of visual arts, live music, fashion design, DJ work, and short film will be accepted at www.artforprogress.org from November 15th through January 7th. There is a $20 application and processing fee. Online voting for the finalists will commence on January 15th and end on February 15th.
Proceeds from the event will help continue funding for the Arts For Progress Arts Education program helping children in less fortunate neighborhoods experience the wonder of the arts.
