Fan Site www.ice-planet.tv Provides Fans a Place to Discuss the TV Series Ice Planet and its Related Game
The team behind www.ice-planet.tv, the unofficial fan site for the forthcoming Spaceworks TV series "Ice Planet," starring Michael Ironside, believe that they have achieved a world first in the development and delivery of a fan-site that not only provides an opportunity for fans to get together and discuss the show, it's creators and cast, but also charts the development of the series and related game from its origins in 2001, to the finished project.
(PRWEB) November 23, 2006 -- The team behind www.ice-planet.tv, the unofficial fan site for the forthcoming Spaceworks TV series "Ice Planet," starring Michael Ironside, believe that they have achieved a world first in the development and delivery of a fan-site that not only provides an opportunity for fans to get together and discuss the show, its creators and cast, but also charts the development of the series and related game from its origins in 2001, to the finished project.
"This isn't just a fan-site," says www.ice-planet.tv's editor and researcher Vincent Fox, "this is a unique resource that charts the development of a new TV show and game. It is a fascinating insight into the world of SCI FI TV production that has, as far as I am aware, never been done before by an unofficial fan-site."
The website charts the development of the show from its roots in the 2001 pilot "Ice Planet," starring Wes Studi, right through to the official announcement of filming dates. The site's webmaster, Alan Cornish, hopes that this unique resource will continue for the complete run of the series.
Alan Cornish, or Badmojo as he prefers to be called, had this to say. "Well, from the various press releases, 'Ice Planet' looks to potentially be one fantastic show. Not only a show, but, and here is the neat bit, a fully integrated game, too. Now, according to various releases, this game will tightly integrate with the show, so information seen in the TV show can, for example, unlock areas in the game. Of course details are thin, but over time we hope to elaborate further."
The site was developed by e team of dedicated individuals earlier this year. Since then, they have led the field in providing the ever growing fan base of "Ice Planet" with the most accurate and up to date information available on the production and development of the TV series and related game.
"We believe we have achieved an industry first", reports editor and researcher, Vincent Fox. "I don't think there has ever been a fan-site that has been "on air" eight months before the shooting of the first scene of the TV show. We also believe that there has never been a fan-site that has charted the development of a new show from its inception, right through to the finale of the series as it happens."
Earlier this year, www.ice-planet.tv went global with its acquisition of American gaming guru Jackie Fiest from the Splinter Cell gaming site "thefairersects.com."
"This is an endeavor I'm very excited about," says Jackie, www.ice-planet.tv's American correspondent, "and am looking forward to seeing where the series goes. Michael Ironside is my all time favourite actor, hands down, and I am thrilled to be able to support him this way. If the nature of things at www.ice-planet.tv to this point are any indications of how things will be in the future, then this site may be as wild a ride as the show itself."
MartinGrey, the site's graphics expert, was "lost for words" when asked for his feelings on the site. His contributions to the graphics and animation have made him an invaluable member of the "Fanatic 4" of www.ice-planet.tv. "A forum I joined earlier this year announced the news about a new show, 'Ice Planet' a few of guys started to talk about putting the fan site together, and to my surprise I was asked if I wanted to help ... funny I don't think the question was actually finished before I said yes ... I've enjoyed every moment, and as filming dates start to get closer, I'm thinking I am following another part of that dream to get close to this stuff!"
