Denver, CO (PRWEB) November 22, 2006 -- Catalyst Repository Systems' CEO John Tredennick spoke on three panels at the West Legalworks 10th Annual EDD and Records Conference. The conference takes place in three major cities: New York, Chicago, and San Francisco in October, November, and December of each year. This year's theme is "The New Age of Electronic Discovery--Are You Prepared," and features programs on the new federal rules, electronic discovery tips and review metrics.
Tredennick spoke on three panels at the New York program:
| | - Electronic Discovery Workflow: Processes and Perspectives.
- Metrics and Finance: Measuring the Past, Predicting the Future.
- Daubert: Qualifying Your Process and Dealing with Technology Challenges.
|
"This is always a great event," Tredennick noted. "The panels always have some of the top EDD experts in the country and it's as much fun to listen as it is to present."
"This year I had a chance to speak about Electronic Discovery workflow and the metrics surrounding the EDD process," Tredennick continued. "When you realize that the average large corporation faces more than 140 lawsuits a year, electronic discovery becomes a big issue. Add to that the fact that corporations collectively spent several billions of dollars on electronic review and you have an issue that requires watching. It becomes crucial to better understand these processes and to learn where you can cut costs effectively."
Tredennick also spoke on Daubert issues. The U. S. Supreme Court issued the landmark decision of Daubert v. Merrill Dow Pharmaceuticals in 1993 and courts around the country have been trying to apply that ruling to different scientific issues ever since. One of the leading issues at the forefront of electronic discovery today is if and under what circumstances does the ruling apply to
such things as concept search and other sampling techniques.
The conference continues in Chicago on November 9th and 10th at the Embassy Suites Downtown. It closes in San Francisco on December 7th and 8th at The Ritz Carlton.
