Topsfield, Mass. (PRWEB) November 22, 2006 -- Technology continues to drive product customization to whole new levels with the launch of ScentDesign.net. The custom fragrance designing Web portal allows women and men to create their own, one of a kind, individual perfume oil. With as many as 50 commonly recognized base fragrances, consumers are able to blend as many as 10 million different and distinctly individual scents.

"Consumers expect to have complete control of their world today, and demand to be empowered to choose and create the products that best fit their tastes, "said Stephen Jackson, ScentDesign.net's President. "ScentDesign allows our customers to create personal products that are limited only by their imagination. We have a continually growing list of popular blends that can provide a baseline or a place to start, or you can simply imagine and create your own scent from scratch."

Acknowledging that an online fragrance bar - in which consumers are blending fragrances without direct contact to the ingredients - is a departure from typical fragrance shopping, each base fragrance is described in detail and a variety of tips and suggestions for successful fragrance creation are provided on the site.

Additionally, the site provides a regularly updated list of descriptions and recipes created by other customers, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of different fragrance mixtures.

"Shared customer creativity is an extraordinarily powerful thing," said Jackson. "Because this is an atypical way of creating and shopping for fragrance, it lets consumers expand their imagination and focus on elements and smells they know they love. It allows them to take creative chances and then see and smell the benefits of their own inventiveness."

About the company:
ScentDesign.net was first conceived in the late 1990's and launched in 2006 in Topsfield, Mass. "Imagine Create Become" and the Scent Design logo are trademarks of Scent Design.
