Atlantic Link Beats Rapid e-Learning Challengers in the 'Live Software Simulation Challenge 2006'

At the UK World of Learning 2006 exhibition, Atlantic Link's rapid e-learning software triumphed spectacularly against five of its leading competitors in the 'Live Software Simulation Challenge' set and monitored by the British Computer Society.

Nottingham, UK (PRWEB) November 23, 2006 -- At the UK World of Learning 2006 exhibition, Atlantic Link's rapid e-learning software triumphed spectacularly against five of its leading competitors in the 'Live Software Simulation Challenge' set and monitored by the British Computer Society.

The companies who took part in the workshop were set the challenge to develop and demonstrate a software simulation solution that could teach a novice how to search for and purchase an England Football shirt on e-Bay. The event was live in front of an audience of 200 buyers and users of elearning. The teams had 15 minutes to create the course and the audience then voted for the software they thought had performed best for each of the following criteria:

  • Most user friendly
  • Most interactive
  • Most innovative approach
  • Best overall appearance

In the first round, Atlantic Link's Content Point and Capture Point software won every single category, scoring almost twice as many votes as Kaplan and four times as many votes as Knowledge Solutions.

In the second half of the draw Assima won the vote against Intellego and Omniplex leaving them to be assessed against Atlantic Link in the final round of voting. This final vote left Atlantic Link the clear winners of the shootout.

Managing Director Mike Alcock, who ran the Atlantic Link software during the challenge, commented "This is a hugely significant win for us. We have gone 'head to head' with all of our major competitors in a live trial and demonstrated that our software is the most effective and easy to use in simulation tasks. Our product and innovation superiority have been recognised by a very knowledgeable audience from the learning industry. The fact that software simulation is just one part of our rapid authoring toolkit, and we were competing with specialist simulation products, shows how far in advance of the field our technology is. We now have the accolade of 'best simulation tool' to go with our previous win as 'best rapid authoring tool'."
