Missing: 20 million Slavic-Americans! First On-Line 2006 Heritage Study of Slavic-Americans to Change U.S. Census Classification

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, millions of Hispanics, African-Americans, Asians, and Pacific Islanders exist in America, but 20 million Slavic-Americans don't? MZI Global Marketing, with the assistance of MBA students from Fordham University, is conducting the first ever, online Slavic-American research study to examine the unique cultural identity of an invisible minority segment, considered part of mainstream America.

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 27, 2006 -- Presently, little attention has been devoted to Eastern-European Americans of Slavic descent, a diverse group of about 20 million, who are seen as an undiscovered invisible minority, considered part of mainstream America. This is one of the largest multicultural groups in North America representing almost 6% of the U.S. population and over 9% of the Canadian population, most of whom speak English as well as a Slavic language. Together they represent one of the largest voting blocks in the U.S. -- yet Slavic-Americans go unnoticed by politicians and the government.

MZI Global Marketing, in partnership with Fordham University School of Business Administration MBA program, is conducting the first online research study of the Slavic-American population to identify key trends, issues and attitudes of this emerging ethnic segment in the U.S.

MZI Global Marketing is a full service integrated marketing firm that specializes in multi-cultural marketing and cross-cultural demographic trends. MZI Global Marketing has developed a unique proprietary methodology - Ethnosynergism ™ - which incorporates cultural intelligence to segment and reach unique untapped consumer markets.

MZI Global Marketing is applying its proprietary methodology, Ethnosynergism ™, to discover common denominators for Slavic-Americans, who share universal attributes transcending geographic, political & religious distinctions and inter-ethnic variations. This study will refine and alter the U.S. Census classification format and create awareness of the Slavic-American population in the U.S.

The survey will be online in English, and will assess basic demographic information, economic indicators, purchasing habits, political and social views, and cultural preferences of Slavic-Americans. It will concentrate on Slavic-Americans from Belarus, Bosnia /Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Montenegro, Poland, Pridnestrovie, Republic of Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine. The survey, runs from November 6th to December 31, 2006 and is posted on the Slavic Heritage Coalition (SHC)© website http://www.slavicheritagecoalition.com.

The results of the study, available in early 2007, will illuminate the significant political and economic influence that Slavic-Americans have on American society, as a unique identity and substantial minority, visible in the domestic and international arenas. This silent minority holds the potential to sway political and public opinion through its network of communities and publications spread throughout North America. The survey will draw attention to the needs and issues relevant to this segment and address how Slavic issues affect voting patterns and influence social policies. The goal of the study is to enact political change benefiting the Slavic-American population, increase enrollment in Slavic studies, languages and culture programs at U.S. academic institutions, promote Slavic-American political leaders, and change the U.S. census to recognize Slavs as a vibrant and powerful group.
