DeviceNet Option Added to METTLER TOLEDO Panther Terminal Line
METTLER TOLEDO Panther weighing terminals now available with DeviceNet for process control connectivity.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (PRWEB) November 29, 2006 -- METTLER TOLEDO is excited to announce the addition of the DeviceNet Option to the Panther terminal line. Panther terminals are compact, easy-to-use weighing terminals that are available in both harsh environment and panel-mount enclosures to support the existing analog scale technology. These versatile terminals can be integrated with process control equipment through a variety of methods, including Discrete I/O, 4-20 mA or 0-10 V analog output, Allen Bradley RIO, Modbus Plus®, PROFIBUS® and the newly integrated DeviceNetTM.
Process Control Connectivity
The new interface provides flexibility for users running standard weighing, batch process weighing or manual checkweighing applications to interface with their DeviceNet network without the need for an external device. The Panther built-in setpoints can be used to create hybrid automated control systems for batch process and filling applications.
Adjustable Filtering
The Panther terminal includes the METTLER TOLEDO exclusive TraxDSP® vibration rejection and superior noise filtering. Adjusted these features to minimize response time and receive stable weights for applications with much vibrational noise such as a mixer or agitator.
Hazardous Area Applications
The Panther panel-mount analog terminal has been Factory Mutual approved for use in in the
U.S.A. in areas classified as Class I, II or III, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D, F or G, Category 3, or as Class I, Zone 2/22, Group IIC when installed installed with appropriate barriers. Panther panel-mount analog terminals that are marked (factory-labeled) as a Category 3 G/D device may be used in European Zone 2/22 classified areas. For European Zone 2/22 hazardous area applications,
the Panther terminal Category 3 and the KEMA Type Examination Certificate must be followed without exception.
