8th Global Entertainment and Media Summit Returns to NYC December 9-10

Leading Industry Event Dedicated to Industry Transformation Features Keynotes from Roger Corman, Les Garland, Larry Namer, Michael Harrison

(Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWEB ) December 1, 2006 -- The Global Entertainment and Media Summit is returning to New York City for its 8th annual media confab on the weekend of December 9-10th. Guest speakers and panelists will include: filmmaker Roger Corman, MTV's original co-founder Les Garland, Larry Namer, who founded E! Channel and Michael Harrison - Editor/Publisher of Talkers Maga ine. GEMS speakers have always been on the cutting edge - leaders, visionaries, deal-makers, entrepreneurs, etc. and the upcoming schedule is no different.

Panel discussions scan the new age of media from "New Advertising" to "Citizen Journalism" to "Creating A Successful Media Company". Some of the industry panelists will include: Michael Masucci/ EZTV Media, Laura Hess/MP3.com, Celia Black/Ray Kurzweil's Development Company, Michael Visceglia/Suzane Vega's music director to name a few. These are the "behind-the-scenes industry vets" who helped create the "new media age" we're now introduced to and experiencing.

The 8th Annual GEMS confab is sponsored by: Total Access Live, Sonicbids, Moviemaker Magazine, Podcast 411, The Music Registry, Mediadupes, LOD America, NYC & Co. and the David Lynch Foundation. As last year, the world-famous "Laugh Factory" will host GEMS (located on 8th Avenue near 42Nd Street) and for that weekend only, Dec. 9-10th, the comedy club will change its marque name to "The Entertainment Factory".

Tickets for GEMS can be obtained from the GEMS site at: globalentertainmentnetwork.com -- $129 in advance and $189 at the door. For a full schedule of events, click onto globalentertainmentnetwork.com/schedule - some of the topics of interest: "If Dinosaurs Knew The Ice Age Was Coming, What Would They Have Done", "Artist Development In The 21st Century" and "Power To The Creator: How Many Technologies Are Putting Distribution In the Hands Of The Creators?".
