DORMA Architectural Hardware Adds a New Family of Electromagnetic Door Holders

The new EM series of maintenance-free electromagnetic door holders are now available from DORMA Architectural Hardware. The DORMA EM Series door holders are composed of a door-mounted catch plate and a floor- or wall-mounted electromagnet. EM series door holders are ideal whenever doors are normally held in the open position, but must close during an alarm condition. As a result, the EM series door holders are suitable for schools, universities, hospitals, convention centers and hotels.

REAMSTOWN, PA (PRWEB) December 1, 2006 -- The new EM series of maintenance-free electromagnetic door holders are now available from DORMA Architectural Hardware ( www.dorma.com/usa ).

The EM Series magnets offer superior reliability with built-in protection and low residual magnetism so they release easily even in applications that use minimal spring force door closers to meet ADA requirements. Brackets are not required for recessed, flush or surface mounting. The secure catch plate on the door features a ball-shaped pivot arm for adjustability to further ensure perfect alignment. Optional extension rods from 1.5 inches to 12 inches are available to accommodate greater distances between the door and wall.

The EM series offer field-selectable voltage æ either 24vac, 24vdc, or 120vac. The low current draw allows savings on power supplies and backup batteries. Vandal resistant, the EM series door holders cannot be disassembled by hand.

To meet design needs, powder coated aluminum and powder coated dark duronodic bronze finishes are available standard, along with optional painted gold.

For more information or an EM series product brochure, call DORMA at 1-800-523-8483 or visit www.dorma.com/usa.
