HTP, Inc Names McKesson Executive to Lead Sales
Rodney Nicholls to leverage extensive healthcare IT experience to support HTP’s accelerating growth and increasing market share.
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) November 29, 2006 -— HTP, Inc. a leading developer of software for the healthcare industry, recently hired Rodney Nicholls as vice president of sales. He brings more than 14 years of sales and sales management experience, including 10 years in the healthcare information technology market.
Prior to joining HTP, Nicholls served as territory vice president, business performance solutions, for McKesson Information Systems. He spent more than 10 years with the company in a series of increasingly responsible sales and marketing positions. Leading sales efforts in Supply Chain Management, Surgical Systems and Financial and Clinical Performance, Nicholls' specialty was in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management, where he produced more than $265 million in sales and grew the company's revenue cycle software and e-commerce divisions by more than 300 percent over three years. His leadership led to his selection as one of an elite group of sales managers chosen to design their best practices sales process.

Nicholls will oversee sales of two software suites that have seen rapid adoption since their release. The HTP RevRunner™ revenue enhancement suite enables hospitals to maximize reimbursement from every available payment source while improving patient care. Initially released in June 2006, HTP RevRunner has already been adopted by more than 150 hospitals, which have uncovered tens of millions of dollars in previously unbilled charges.
An early version of the HTP RevRunner software is also used by more than 75 healthcare providers participating in the Utah Health Information Network, the nation's first successful Regional Health Information Organization. HTP's collaboration with UHIN progressively led to the development of HTP MedRunner™, which is designed to process the exchange of clinical and administrative data between physicians, hospitals, laboratories, health plans and other RHIO stakeholders. Its adoption by UHIN has been credited with holding healthcare costs across the state of Utah to 25 percent below the national average.
Nicholls also gained sales experience with Pitney Bowes before joining McKesson. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physical education from Mars Hill College in North Carolina where he was an Academic All American in Baseball.
