In order to determine if a domain name might still have traffic, it is checked for Google PageRank, Alexa Rank, DMOZ Listing, Yahoo Listing, number of links and pages found in major search engines, and how long the domain was registered. A positive score in most areas can be a good indication that the site still has traffic. The only way to know for sure how much traffic the domain still has is to register it.
Generating traffic can be one of the most difficult tasks when developing a website. Purchasing a domain which already has traffic can help jump start the site. One of the more common uses of this tool is to help users find valuable domains to make money with parked pages. A parked page is a way for domainers to take advantage of the traffic a domain has by setting up a site with advertisements.
