Educators and Business Leaders team up with Action Long Island and hit Billboard charting recording artist and ASCAP songwriter, Georgie Porgie in partnership with Catz Entertainment and top arbitron rated Long Island radio station, 106.1 BLI as they mix emparting leadership skills with phat dance beats. Keynote speaker, author Ed Gerety and Essay Contests round out a day of music, song and leadership training during the 6th Annual Kids in Action Youth Conference on December 1st at Farmingdale State University on Long Island, New York.

A delegation of over 3000 middle school youth and their teachers will find on hand, famed author and keynote speaker, Ed Gerety, and in cooperation with Catz Entertainment, billboard chart-topping recording artist, Georgie Porgie. 106.1 BLI on-air personality, LJ Lovely kicks off the fun, with Georgie Porgie singing his hits, "I Believe", "Sunshine", and "Love Is Gonna Save The Day", which is a perfect lead-in to Ed Gerety who will impart his humor and powerful message of respect, responsibility and leadership. School essay contest awards will be announced and you can bet the air will be filled with tremendous school spirit. It will be a day to remember for the young leaders of tomorrow.

The annual conference in its 6th year takes place due in part to the tremendous effort by Long Island educators, Action Long Island and its generous business supporters which makes the conference available at no charge to area schools. The KIA Youth Conference supports local middle schools to help foster self esteem and character education. In previous years, the KIA Youth Conference has featured Brooke Ellison, astronaut Guy Gardner, and 12 year old Mattie Stepanek as keynotes.
