Oakland, CA (PRWEB) December 2, 2006 -- Ever thought about getting a job in the world of sports and entertainment? Lots of us have. With that in mind, Boost Mobile is proud to present "Boosting Leaders for Tomorrow," Friday December 8th to Sunday, December 10th at East Oakland Youth Development Center (EOYDC) located at 8200 International Boulevard. Teaming with the Oakland community, Boost Mobile is helping build the next generation of promising leaders.
"Boosting Leaders for Tomorrow" (BFLT) includes two tracks: an interactive youth camp (for male and female youth between 11 and 17) and a three-day basketball tournament program (for young men between 18 and 25). Oakland is the last stop on a three city tour that started in Akron, Ohio, to Baltimore, Maryland.
The BLFT youth camp will present an interactive sequence where participants will have the opportunity to choose from either the sports or entertainment segment. Here, participants will learn first-hand from industry VIP's and produce a collective finale All-Star game presentation for the family and friends on Sunday, December 10th 3 to 5pm EOYDC .
The three-day BLFT basketball tournament for young men is designed to provide them with mentoring, life-skills training, and career guidance. Before hitting the 'hard wood' participants MUST attend one hour workshops where participants will get tips in developing their resumes, develop or build on their computer skills and engage in other personal development opportunities.
Pre-registration is required for both the youth camp and evening tournament. Sign-ups for both will take place at a live remote with KMEL at Go Wireless Unlimited, located at 1082-98th Ave on Thursday December 7th at 3pm-5pm. "Boosting Leaders for Tomorrow" has a wealth of career opportunities for both kids and young adults. It was over 15 years ago that we brought the Summerscope youth camp to the East Bay at the EOYDC, so we are excited to once again team with them for BLFT.
