Operation Jump Start Hosts Fourth Annual 'Holiday Gallery of Trees'
Operation Jump Start (OJS), a Long Beach non-profit youth mentoring organization is holding an exciting fundraiser this holiday season. Beautifully decorated three-foot tall, artificial Christmas trees, full of great gifts will be raffled off (and two available by Silent Auction). The money from the fundraiser will go to towards programs helping disadvantaged youth excel academically. You won't want to miss it. The Gallery of Trees will be held on Second Street in Belmont Shore, in front of Washington Mutual Bank.
Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) December 1, 2006 -- This holiday season Second Street shoppers will not want to miss the beautiful display of twenty, three-foot tall, decorated artificial Christmas trees in front of Washington Mutual Bank. Why are they there? These trees, of which eighteen will be raffled off and two available by Silent Auction, will help raise money for Operation Jump Start (OJS), a Long Beach non-profit youth mentoring organization.
In partnership with the Belmont Shore Business Association, OJS will be hosting its annual "Holiday Gallery of Trees" fundraiser in Belmont Shore. Each theme-decorated tree is sponsored by a Second Street vendor and adorned with gift certificates and/or merchandise with a minimum value of $150. From December 1st through December 15th, many of the individual Christmas trees will be displayed in the sponsoring vendor's establishment. Then from December 15th through December 22nd the Christmas trees will be displayed in front of Washington Mutual Bank on Second Street. During the exhibition, shoppers passing by can purchase raffle tickets and place them in containers in front of the tree(s) they wish to win. At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 22nd, each tree will be raffled off. Winners do not need to be present to win. Some of this year's sponsors include Polly's Gourmet Coffee, Wiskers, Caffe La Strada, Fern's Garden, The Rubber Tree, Belmont Station, 2nd Street Optical, Shannon's Bayshore, Legends, Sunshine on Second, Open Sesame, 2nd Street Cigar, Saga, Archibald's, George's Greek Café and Francesca's Collection.
OJS empowers and enables disadvantaged Long Beach students to complete high school and go on to college. Students are assisted through mentoring, supplemental enrichment programs such as cultural events, educational workshops and community service, and scholarship opportunities.
