Top-25 Dutch law firm Van Benthem & Keulen Advocaten has competed the roll out of BigHand3 Digital Dictation Workflow software across the firm reporting a significant improvement in team work and document production.

The project, led by Morningstar Systems and completed in September 2006, was run following consultation with Van Benthem & Keulen employees' council ("Ondernemingsraad") and has been extremely well accepted. Lawyers at Van Benthem & Keulen can send their dictation instantly to their own secretary or a secure box. Each secretary can share their workload with their department via the department box, or even with all secretaries in the office by way of the 'Van Benthem Box'. This has had a very positive effect on team work during peak times.

Van Benthem & Keulen IT Director Marco Zwarts led the project and commented on their product selection:

"With BigHand Digital Dictation what you see is what you get. Great visibility, easy-to-use interface, very good client confidentiality and some useful remote working features such as Folder Watch. Most importantly though it was designed after the feedback of over 300 law firms which means it is more customised to the way our employees work than other systems we looked at."

In January Van Benthem & Keulen will also be implementing the BigHand3 EmailGateway module, allowing lawyers to send dictations into the office workflow via Outlook or Outlook Web Access.
