Presenters in clude Agape's Michael Bernard Beckwith, the film, God and Allah Need to Talk, a rich panel discussion and more.
"The divided people of the world agree: on our one planet we are not one. With our lives, our societies, our nations so fragmented, oneness must become our paramount pursuit. " said Franz Metcalf, PhD, Founding Member of the Forge Guild, and author of several books including "What Would Buddha Do," and the man responsible for creating a vibrant panel discussion among local religious leaders at Celebration of Oneness, a two-day multi-media event at the Pasadena Convention Center and Civic Auditorium on December 9th and 10th.
Any discussion of oneness must include serious consideration of the world's faiths. Dr. Metcalf is bringing together extraordinary leaders and visionaries of the Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu faiths to join in a conversation that will give audience members inspiration and power to make a difference in their own communities.
Celebration of Oneness is designed to inspire people to consider, create and celebrate "oneness" with their body, mind, spirit, environment, community and globe. Celebration of Oneness will bring together influential speakers, headlining musicians, award-winning films and filmmakers, renowned educators, authors, artists, and visionaries for an exciting and experiential weekend of provocative panel discussions, participative workshops, film screenings, book signings, live performances and more.
Also screening at the event will be Ruth Broyde-Sharone's film "God and Allah Need to Talk" that was recently screened at the Parliament of World Religions to an audience of hundreds, and has been hailed as a "must see interfaith film" and enthusiastically received by audiences at many churches, synagogues, mosques and universities. Other motion pictures of a spiritual or religious nature appearing at the event will be "One" (featuring Thich Nat Hanh, Deepak Chopra, Robert Thurman, etc.), "The Peaceful Warrior," "Darshan The Embrace," and "Celestine Prophesy" with an additional special workshop by Celestine's creator James Redfield.
Agape International Spiritual Center's Michael Bernard Beckwith will be giving a keynote speech as well as appearing with the viral marketing movie sensation "The Secret" for which he was recently featured on CNN's "Larry King Live." The book of the same name is being released today by Simon and Schuster. On Sunday evening of the event, will also be a concert with the wildly-acclaimed Rickie Byars Beckwith and the Agape International Choir at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
Finally, people from all over the world, of every faith and continent, will also be able to participate in this spectacular event by sending in their email responses to the question "What does ONENESS mean to you?" which will be assembled and displayed in an art installation at the event. A mass viral internet campaign has begun to include the world in the event. Inspired by Rabbi Sharone, people will also be able to add their written, anonymous addition to an art installation, which will include each participants' commitment to do one small profound act to create more oneness in the world.
As Franz Metcalf has said to his interfaith community: "Bridging body and mind, music and film, education and spiritual experience, Celebration of Oneness promises to itself embody the oneness we so need in this world. Where better to be?"
