ADMET Introduces Palm-sized Micro EP Stage for Tension, Compression and Flexure Testing

ADMET Inc., a provider of integrated materials testing systems, today introduced the Micro EP line of palm-sized universal testing machines.

NORWOOD, Mass. (PRWEB) December 5, 2006 -- ADMET Inc., a provider of integrated materials testing systems, today introduced the Micro EP line of palm-sized universal testing machines. These small test stages are ideal for determining the mechanical properties of miniature specimens in tension, compression or flexure. Each stage can be used as a standalone tester or can be installed in an optical or atomic microscope to compare the macroscopic stress-strain states with the microscopic changes in the material. The testers exert forces as small as a few grams or as much as 5kN on specimens that are generally 10s of millimeters in size.

"The progress of materials science is intimately related to achievements in the development of powerful analytical techniques. One key technique is to connect microscopic grain structure changes to macroscopic or bulk stress-strain states. The Micro EP test stages provide this capability in an affordable, easy-to-use package," commented Richard Gedney, ADMET founder and president.

ADMET Micro EP test stages are available in 450N and 5kN capacities and are equipped with load and displacement transducers for generating stress-strain curves. Equipped with ADMET's MTESTWindows Materials Testing System, it can be programmed to conduct simple force or displacement tests to failure, or long term ramp and hold or cyclic control profiles.

Optional configurations include smaller capacity load cells, longer crosshead strokes and faster testing speeds, as well as thermoelectric heaters and coolers. The Micro EP is supported by a full catalog of clamps and fixtures for testing biomaterials, wire, textiles, elastomers, plastics, films, foils and other materials.

The ADMET Micro EP test stage is available immediately from ADMET and through ADMET representatives. For additional information, visit http://www.admet.com/assets/Micro_EP_UTM_Brochure.pdf.
