Business Veteran Joins SBDC of Ventura, Santa Barbara Counties
Becki Walker brings a wealth of business experience to her position as the new executive director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) of Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, including work with three other California SBDCs (Silicon Valley, Westside of Los Angeles and Rocklin). As the executive director, Walker will oversee SBDC and its business assistance programs, which feature free counseling, affordable training and workshops.
Ventura, CA (PRWEB) December 6, 2006 -- The Ventura County Small Business Development Center (SBDC) recently announced the appointment of Becki Walker as the organization's new executive director. As director, Walker will be responsible for overseeing operations of the SBDC serving Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
"Becki is a problem solver and strategic team builder whose experience leading a wide range of companies will be invaluable to growing the SDBC and providing business solutions to clients," said Kay Faulconer Boger, dean of business economic and resource development at Ventura College.
Most recently, Walker served as the interim director for the Silicon Valley SBDC, and previously coordinated training and outreach at Sierra College SBDC and managed the counseling and training services for the program in the Westside of Los Angeles. She has also held positions as a marketing executive, market strategist and project manager.
"I've had the opportunity to work with three successful SBDCs, and look forward to using what I learned with Sierra College SBDC, the Westside and Silicon Valley organizations to take the Ventura and Santa Barbara counties' SBDC to the next level," Walker said.
