The airport and airplane heightened security alerts and regulations in place will ruin travel unless passengers understand what can and cannot be taken on board.

Inglewood, CA (PRWEB) December 5, 2006 -- The airport and airplane heightened security alerts and regulations in place will ruin travel unless passengers understand what can and cannot be taken on board.

Robert Bennett, the CEO of Forever Yours Transportation (FYT) - the nation's leading luggage delivery service, offers the information below to help understand the airport & airplane security rules and make traveling through airports faster, easier and stress free.

  • Liquids in quantities of 3 ounces or more may not be taken on board. This includes baby foods and toiletry items such as gel, lotion, shaving cream and large toothpaste tubes (small toothpaste tubes are allowed.) All liquids should fit into a closed zip lock bag. Excess liquids must be checked.

  • Lighters, lighter fluid, fuels including cooking fuel, gasoline and gas torches are not allowed on board while safety matches are limited to four books in your carry on luggage.

  • Any sharp object including pens, pencils, razor type blades, box cutters, utility knives, razor blades and scissors with blades greater than 4 inches or more, are not allowed on board. All sharp objects must be sheathed and securely wrapped in checked luggage.

  • Medication must be clearly identifiable and packed in a separate pouch. Excess medication must be checked. Only bring necessary medication on board.

  • Ammunition, firearms, martial arts weapons, swords, sabers and self protection tear gas must be in checked luggage. Any firearm must be in a locked hard sided container and reported to the airline agent.

  • Any explosive materials are not allowed. This includes dynamite, fireworks, fire crackers, sparklers, rockets, blasting caps, flares, hand grenades or plastic explosives.

Airlines are taking extended safety measures and erring on the side of caution to ensure the safety of all passengers. If you are unsure if a specific item is allowed on board or in checked luggage contact the airline directly.
