Orange County, CA (PRWEB) December 6, 2006
The HT Guys have released a new episode of their bi-weekly online audio program that should help holiday shoppers by explaining many HDTV and Home Theater terms and concepts. Based on feedback from listeners, the HT Guys, Ara Derderian and Braden Russell, put together a short list of HDTV jargon, such as '1080p', 'HDMI' and 'Surround Sound.' The goal of the episode is to arm holiday shoppers with the information they need to make an informed buying decision. The show is available online at: http://www.htguys.com/archive/December052006.html.
"We understand that buying a TV isn't anything like it used to be," said Derderian. "You can't just go out and buy a TV anymore." To purchase an HDTV, consumers need to understand all about what HDTV is, how it works, what their choices are. Not only are there more than five different kinds of TVs available now, there are several ways to connect them to an input source, such as a cable set-top-box or over-the-air antenna. This "jargon buster" episode, as the hosts call it, comes as part of their ongoing effort to educate consumers and promote the HDTV format. It follows on the heels of their HDTV buyer's guide from December 1.
The HT Guys host and produce a bi-weekly audio program available online called the HDTV and Home Theater Podcast. The program can be streamed and listened to on any Internet connected computer, or can be downloaded and listened to on the go on any portable music player. "We traditionally get a swell in listenership in November and December as people desperately search for reliable information on what exactly they need to know to buy an HDTV," explained Russell. "They know they want it, they just aren't sure what "it" is, or how to get it."
