XVD Corporation Introduces the Most Advanced Real-Time HD/SD Video and Audio Decoder

CamCast Professional HD-RX2000 High Definition Decoder includes new Texas Instruments Digital Signal Processor.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) December 7, 2006 -- XVD Corporation, the pioneer of XVD(tm) technology, considered by many to be the most advanced real-time video compression technology available in the market -- has introduced its HD-RX2000 CamCast Decoder to provide high-quality performance at all data rates, including low data rate applications, even over poor-quality Internet channels.

By incorporating the unique Texas Instruments Digital Signal Processor (DSP) along with next-generation XVD(tm) technology in their design of the CamCast Professional HD-RX2000, XVD Corporation has created a higher standard in real-time high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) decoders and players, which provides greater efficiency and improved performance.

"The processing power of the Texas Instruments Digital Signal Processor enabled XVD to design a new platform that is both flexible and scalable," said Joe Lam, Vice President of Operations and Engineering at XVD Corporation. "The RX2000 is the first of a family of XVD products that will be based on this platform."

The HD-RX2000 decodes and plays back an XVD-HD or SD data stream from DVB-ASl or one of two Ethernet ports from a LAN or IP broadband network. The XVD input stream is decoded into HD or SD-SDI format according to the original resolution and frame rate. Special features of the HD-RX2000 include: ProXVD(tm) Forward Error Correction and Network Analysis; Adaptive Post- Filtering (for best possible video quality at all data rates); selectable network buffer size (for delivery over poor-quality Internet channels); and GENLOCK. Other features include DVB-ASl, RTP/IP and TCP/IP input; HD or SD-SDI output; digital turnaround; multi-patented Codec; front-panel and web-user interfaces; low power consumption and light weight.

In addition, the CamCast Professional SD-RX2000 is recommended for use with the new second-generation NewsHound II(sm) backpack DENG encoder and transmitter, which provides an easily carried DVB-T/COFDM wireless link that works with all cameras to extend the range of DENG crews beyond the limits of their vehicles.
