The Utility Company™ Announces First Franchise in the United States -- Former Accenture Consultant, Satish Damle, Launched North Atlanta Market in November

The Utility Company, the leader in Technology-as-a-Service™, today announced its first Utility Service Provider (USP) franchise in the United States. Satish Damle, a veteran technology consultant located in Alpharetta, Georgia, signed on with The Utility Company for exclusive territory rights within the North Atlanta region.

Ottawa, Canada (PRWEB) December 11, 2006 -- The Utility Company, the leader in Technology-as-a-Service™, today announced its first Utility Service Provider (USP) franchise in the United States. Satish Damle, a veteran technology consultant located in Alpharetta, Georgia signed on with The Utility Company for exclusive territory rights within the North Atlanta region.

"Technology service professionals with Satish's experience and background represent an ideal USP to deliver the high-value, business-technology consulting required as part of our Connected Office suite of services," stated Mark Scott, President of The Utility Company. "Satish's career as a senior technical integration manager with Accenture gives him not only the technical, but also the sales and business background along with a deep understanding of the utility service model."

The Utility Company provides information technology as a utility service to small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) providing the required hardware, software and service for a monthly fee per user. Utility was founded to address the two major problems in the SMB market today:

  • Spending - the fact the average SMB spends $360 per user per month on technology for an industry total of $400 billion annually.

  • Utilization - the fact that only 15 percent of this investment in technology is actually utilized by these businesses.

"Connected Office represents the new way for businesses to consume technology," stated Satish Damle, the owner of the first US-based USP. "I have a strong network of potential customers thanks to my existing relationships in the Atlanta area and they immediately understand the value of Connected Office for their business. For example, I engaged with a small medical association with 15 desktops, two servers and two locations. It was easy to articulate our value proposition of consumption-based IT to them for $80 per user per month."

When asked how his relationship with The Utility Company came to be, Mr. Damle stated, "I read about The Utility Company in the August issue of CRN. Since I was looking to start my own business, the moment I read the article I said to myself, 'This is exactly what I want to do'. The more I learned about the Beyond Managed Services franchise opportunity, the more I appreciated the model. Recurring revenue, not unlike what a financial planner or insurance agent sees monthly, means the equity in my franchise will appreciate exponentially. I was attracted to that and the market potential. Speaking to my network of contacts -- architects, lawyers, doctors, family -- they all easily understood the value of the service offering right away."

The Utility Company remains on track with its plans to be in 10 major markets by the end of 2006 and 100 by the end of 2007. The Utility Business System and franchise model have been registered and approved in most states in the United States and by the Canadian Franchise Association.

"Our business model has been well-received by both SMBs and potential franchisees for one reason -- we are changing the traditional way technology is delivered and consumed by significantly reducing the cost per user while increasing utilization," concluded Scott. "For years the technology industry has over-marketed itself into oblivion to a point where today companies are fed up with buying technology 'in a vacuum' instead of to improve their business."

Connected Office is now available in the North Atlanta region by calling 1-866-My-Utility. Before you spend another cent on technology, contact us and take our Utility Meter Reading business-technology assessment.
