It’s taken our sites to a higher level. We’re able to provide our audience with timely, on-demand video clips in a clean, well-performing video player
Mankato, MN (PRWEB) December 12, 2006
WFMZ, an Allentown, Pennsylvania television station covering the third largest business district in Pennsylvania, has chosen DayPort’s Carbon Publish suite of applications for the purpose of adding video content to their web site, providing a near time solution for delivering both live and on demand video content to the web and delivering an additional means to generate revenue for the station.
“It’s taken our sites to a higher level. We’re able to provide our audience with timely, on-demand video clips in a clean, well-performing video player,” said Eric D. Reinert, Manager for WFMZ.COM and WFMZENESPANOL.COM. “The tight integration with our newsroom software allows our producers to update our sites quickly. We are seeing that our websites’ usage has increased not only because of the news clips, but also due to the raw news video clips, complete news conference video, and live coverage of breaking news that we are now able to provide. With Carbon Publish, we’re well positioned for the future.”
Content for WFMZ’s web site is generated by the station’s producers using DayPort’s award winning Carbon Publish application suite. Video content is captured using DayPort’s Carbon Publish suite of applications. The captured content is then made available to the producers via a web based interface. Carbon Publish gives WFMZ’s producers the ability to choose video clips that they would like to broadcast on their web site, and which video clips should be leveraged to generate alternate video content formats for distribution to other devices. WFMZ is leveraging this feature to make the station’s video content available for Podcasting.
“WFMZ has chosen to refine their broadcast workflow with the help of our software tool set,” said Cory L. Factor, Chief Executive Officer for DayPort, Inc. "This allows the stations producers to deliver video content to non-traditional outlets in a very efficient and cost effective manner. The solution also provides the station with an additional revenue channel in that they can easily incorporate static and video advertising into their presentation of content on their web site.”
