Internet Missionary Work On The Rise According To ChristiaNet Poll

Missionary work such as volunteering, community service projects, Christian ministries and evangelism are some of the volunteer work available at http://www.christianet.com/volunteers.htm.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) December 20, 2006 -- ChristiaNet.com (http://www.christianet.com), the world's largest Christian portal with twelve million monthly page loads, asked readers to participate in a new survey question, "Is Internet missionary work effective?" The survey results suggest that many Christians wholeheartedly agree that the Internet is an effective way to reach people all over the world. Out of 219 participants, 128 responded, "yes." One Believer commented, "I helped a Pastor's wife in India after her husband was put in the hospital by those who are trying to kill Christians. I asked the Lord for the right words and He helped this woman through me, Praise God!" Outreach to those who are suffering persecution is indeed confirmation that God is using the Internet for missionary work and for His glory!

Eleven participants responded "no" to the Web being an effective tool for volunteering. Most of the comments with this group lean towards face-to-face ministry. One Christian wrote, "Without one-on-one contact there is no presence of God or power of the Spirit." Bill Cooper, President of ChristiaNet.com, gave some feedback to this response by saying, "God uses many ways to reach the lost and is not limited by distance." There are many people who have had some bad experiences on the Internet and don't feel that it is a trustworthy tool. However, while there may be some deception from the enemy, there is also deliverance and blessings for many.

Eighty readers were unsure about the survey question because they seem to be unfamiliar with the concept of volunteering through the Web. It is possible to become more familiar with a topic on the Internet by doing a keyword search. There are many Christian organizations like ChristiaNet.com, that minister to the lost and offer ways to reach out to others. Just a simple word of encouragement to someone who is hurting could very well result in a lost soul coming to God.

The Internet removes the barrier of distance through communication. Some participants use the Web to minister to family and friends who are far away. Christians should pray for those who spend time volunteering to do missionary work online. The Internet could be considered a miraculous tool for God, even if were to only reach one person!
