49% of Singles Plan to Join a Dating Service in the New Year - Meeting Someone New is the #1 Resolution of 2007

With 28% of singles surveyed saying they keep their resolution every year, the New Year looks to be promising for those dedicated to finding Mister or Misses Right.

With 28% of singles surveyed saying they keep their resolution every year, the New Year looks to be promising for those dedicated to finding Mister or Misses Right.

"A survey by It's Just Lunch revealed that in 2006 almost half of all singles focused on their career, financial situation and their health, but 2007 shows a shift in singles' priorities," said Alana Beyer, Vice President of It's Just Lunch. "71% of the singles we surveyed said that meeting someone new is their #1 New Year's resolution in 2007."

New Year's Eve is right around the corner, if you don't have a date yet don't worry…

  • 34% of singles said they wait until just days before New Year's Eve to find a date

  • Only 18% of singles have a date lined up a by December 1st

  • 14% of singles would accept a date as late as one hour before New Year's Eve

  • 40% of singles agreed that New Year's Eve is a great time for a first kiss

  • Only 27% admit to having had a first kiss at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve

  • 46% of singles prefer to ring in the New Year out on the town in New York, San Francisco or Las Vegas

  • 29% would rather celebrate at a house party with friends and family
