Team Donate Life Joins Forces with AthletiCamps

AthletiCamps to supply coaching services for 2007 RAAM Teams.

Rocklin, CA (PRWEB) December 15, 2006 -- AthletiCamps, a premier provider of high performance cycling training camps, coaching and sports nutrition, proudly announces a partnership with Team Donate Life (TDL). AthletiCamps will provide coaching services to their athletes as they tackle their mission to ride the 2007 Race Across America (RAAM) as a means of raising awareness about the life-saving benefits of organ donation.

"While TDL sends six full teams to compete in RAAM '07, athletes will "lose" a total of 3,000 hours of sleep, use 6,000+ vacation hours from work and spend about $250,000. Why do we enter RAAM? Our sacrifice in time and effort pales in comparison to the nearly 100,000 people waiting for a transplant," said Kent Mulkey, executive director or TDL. "We are very excited to bring AthletiCamps onboard as our training resource to assist our athletes in pursuing such a worthwhile cause. AthletiCamps' reputation for success with all levels of athletes is very well established."

TDL's mission is to raise awareness about the life-saving benefits of organ donation. A single life can directly save the lives of eight other people. While competing in this year's RAAM, 250 people will die waiting for a life-saving transplant and 1,500 more people will be added to the waiting list. Although transplantation is now, due to incredible medical advancements over the past 20 years, achieving an 80 percent success rate, there is a critical need for people to register as an organ donor. "AthletiCamps is very excited about helping TDL this year and in the future. Their cause is important and we feel privileged to be part of their unique and ground breaking effort," said Bruce Hendler, owner of AthletiCamps.

AthletiCamps, located in Rocklin, California, provides cycling training camps, performance touring and individual and group coaching services to a wide variety of athletes.
