ResortQuest Invites Visitors to Take the Plunge at New Year's Bethany Beach Tradition
Celebrate the new year with a drip in the icy Atlantic Ocean during the 11th annual Leo Brady Exercise Like the Eskimos; 6th annual Hometown Pet Show returns to the beach too.
Bethany Beach, DE (PRWEB) December 15, 2006 -- Join the hundreds expected to mark the beginning of 2007 with a frosty dip in the Delaware Beaches Atlantic surf at the 11th annual Leo Brady Exercise Like the Eskimos at noon on New Year's Day in downtown Bethany Beach, Delaware.
Nearly 300 people took the plunge last year. Schools, businesses, clubs, friends and families are invited to choose a team name and compete with others for the largest team. The team with the most registered members who actually get wet will win the coveted Iceberg Trophy and bragging rights for the whole year. Last year, Team Neptune took home the trophy with a team of 22 splashers. Team members may wear team t-shirts over their bathing suits. That extra bit of clothing can come in handy in January. Individuals may wear only bathing suits.
The 6th Annual Hometown Pet Show will take place prior to the Eskimo plunge. Bring your furry friends out to greet the New Year and you could go home with a trophy of your own.
Registration forms are now available in area businesses, at the Chamber of Commerce building on Route 1 in Fenwick Island, and on our website ExerciseLikeTheEskimos.com. The registration fee for individuals and team members is $25 in advance (by December 23rd) and $30 the day of the event. Students 18 and under may register for just $15. Pre-registered splashers are guaranteed an event towel courtesy of Towel Sponsor, ResortQuest Real Estate.
