Science Info Awards the First Student Travel Assistance Grant

Science Info, a market research and information company, has announced the winner of the 2006 Student Travel Assistance Grants. C. Shane Massey, a Microbiology and Molecular Biology graduate student at the University of Central Florida will receive financial support from Science Info to attend the ASM General Meeting in May of 2007.

Richmond, VA (PRWEB) December 15, 2006 -- Science Info, a market research and information company, has announced the winner of the 2006 Student Travel Assistance Grants.

Because there is only a limited amount of travel funding available for students, Science Info was only able to select one graduate student or post-doctoral fellow per year to receive a Student Travel Assistance Grant. This year approximately 150 post-doctoral fellows and graduate students applied for the Science Info Student Travel Assistance Grant. All applicants were extremely deserving of funding. Reviewers had a difficult time choosing a winner because research abstracts were presented so well.

After a lengthy review process, Science Info chose C. Shane Massey as the winner of the 2006 Student Travel Assistance Grant. Mr Massey, a Microbiology and Molecular Biology graduate student at the University of Central Florida will receive financial support from Science Info to attend the ASM General Meeting in May of 2007. Mr. Massey gave an informative online seminar entitled "Stabilization of CTA1 structure inhibits degradation and intoxication" as a preview to the research presentation he will be giving at the ASM general meeting.

The Science Info Student Travel Assistance Grant will be awarded annually. Deadline for applications will fall between the months of September and October each year.
